Courses & Training
Time to start discussing the first steps into barbering.
There are several ways to kickstart your Barbering career off. The first thing you need to do is your research. Barbering isn’t for everyone and some start college thinking it’s what they want to do, but change their mind a few weeks into the course which is a waste of time and money. Hence why it’s always best to put the effort in and do the research.
Others think it’s just about skinfades and that’s it. Well I hate to say, but it’s not and when at college, skinfades aren’t done until level 3.
First things first, have a look at you tube where you’ll find loads of videos on barbering and will give you an insight into cutting.
Look at local colleges for costs, time it takes to do it, what you learn, etc.
Once your almost convinced you want to do it, try and do some shadowing in a shop, so you can see first hand what goes on. If you’re still sure its what you want to do, you can either find somewhere that does taster days or you can enrol at your local college.
These are the first steps. The more research you do , the less likely you are to start a course and not finish it.
